Enel X signs a new agreement to support ABB in reaching its carbon neutrality 2030 plan

Enel X and ABB recently launched a new partnership for the installation of a 1,690 kWp photovoltaic plant at the company’s site in Frosinone, Italy. The plant will cover 30% of the site’s energy needs and will contribute to have the company reach its Carbon Neutrality targets by 2030. This result will be possible thanks to the reduction of emissions by 820 tons.

Enel X’s challenge

ABB needed support to reach its sustainability strategy target, which foresees the Carbon Neutrality of its operations by 2030 and the realization of a microgrid which, thanks to ABB’s monitoring technology, electric power distribution optimization and energy storage system, can increase the site’s energy production self-sufficiency level.

Enel X will install a 1,690 kWp photovoltaic system at the ABB plant in Frosinone, Italy. Enel X will realize and manage the solar park for the entire period of the Energy Performance Contract, together with the ESCo (Energy Service Company) partner company Cogenio.

The plant will cut emissions by over 820 tons, equivalent, approximately, to 9,000 forest trees that would be needed to absorb it. Furthermore, thanks to the plant, ABB will be able to satisfy 30% of its energy needs, drastically improving the site’s energy efficiency and self-sufficiency.
