The Garcìa Carrìon Group needed to implement a decarbonization strategy at its production centers that would make them more competitive by focusing on self-consumption.
By the end of 2022, Enel X will install 33,637 photovoltaic modules on an area equivalent to 13 soccer fields spread across 9 plants – one for each of the Garcìa Carrìon group’s production centers – and with a total capacity of 18,164 kWp. 100% of the energy produced will be self-consumed. Furthermore, the group has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement that runs until 2032 to supply energy that is 100% renewable with contractual conditions that will ensure greater economic stability in the face of fluctuations in the energy market.
The photovoltaic systems will meet 30% of the company’s energy needs, ensuring a net reduction both in energy costs and CO₂ emissions of around 8,300 metric tons a year.
The Garcia Carrión Group is committed to decarbonization, which is an absolute must when it comes to business competitiveness. The project the Group is implementing is one of the most ambitious in the country and demonstrates how energy management based on efficiency, savings and sustainability is really possible. We at Endesa X are proud to be facilitating and accompanying the Garcia Carrión Group in this energy transition.
